NCKU Faculty Honored with Major National Awards

NCKU promotes research incentives and industry collaboration, and several of our professors have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in R&D and academia–industry partnership.

9th National Industrial Innovation Award

● Professor Chuan-Pu Liu (Materials Science and Engineering).Founded two startups that have developed high-purity silicon carbide and nano-silicon powders for energy storage and green energy applications.

● Director Fan-Tien Cheng (Intelligent Manufacturing Research Center).Facilitated 63 technology transfers, generating over 270 million NTD in licensing revenue and advancing Taiwan’s manufacturing industry toward net-zero carbon emissions.

2025 NSTC Ta-You Wu Memorial Award

● Associate Professor Pin-Chieh Wu (Photonics).Recipient of the Yu-Hsiu Technology Paper Award and ranked among the top 2% scientists worldwide for four consecutive years.

● Assistant Professor Chyuan-Chuan Wu (Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology).Published three research papers in Nucleic Acids Research. ●Associate Professor Sheng-Heng Chung (Materials Science and Engineering).Author of nearly 100 journal papers and owner of 15 patents with over 15,000 citations and an h-index of 50; ranked 4th globally in lithium–sulfur battery research by ScholarGPS, placing him among the top 0.02% researchers worldwide.
