Talent Sustainability Empowerment
People-Centered, Globally Ambitious, Sustainability-Driven, Rising to World-Class Excellence
With its motto “Pursue Truth and Knowledge” and a campus ethos of “Ethics and Pragmatism,” National Cheng Kung University is committed to cultivating the next generation of global talents equipped with empathy, cross-cultural respect and inclusiveness, and the capacity to reduce inequalities. Through diverse learning pathways and support systems, the University strengthens students’ broad knowledge, professional skills, and global competitiveness to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. By encouraging faculty and students to actively engage in public service, cultural promotion, and local heritage activities, NCKU fosters cultural exchange and understanding with a global perspective, creating greater value and impact for society.

Student support
NCKU is dedicated to fostering an environment of equality, human rights, and gender inclusiveness. The University actively admits students from economically and culturally disadvantaged backgrounds and provides multiple financial aid programs to support their daily lives. These measures enable students to focus on learning and future development, helping them pursue their dreams with confidence.
To enhance student learning and development support systems, NCKU has launched two one-stop digital service platforms: and the NCKU Future Success+ Personalized Academic and Career Planning System. The former is designed for new students, integrating information on courses, online library resources, housing, registration, scholarships, campus life, and student clubs to help them adapt quickly and fully utilize campus resources. The latter assists students in exploring career interests, analyzing competencies, editing personal statements, and generating customized résumés. It also connects to the campus résumé database, interview guidance programs, and job recommendations, offering comprehensive support from campus life and career exploration to employment preparation.
First-year student support
In response to the digital era, NCKU launched the one-stop Digital Office of the First-year Student, providing services such as AP pre-enrollment courses, online resources from the Library and Computer Center, housing, course registration, and scholarship applications, along with information on campus life and student clubs.
Academic and Research support
NCKU actively supports senior, mid-career, and young scholars through the International Advancement Program, accelerating partnerships with leading universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, and Australia. The University has signed 47 dual-degree agreements with 34 institutions and established the Guidelines for Recruiting Top Talent to attract top scholars to academic and technological research. Subsidies and incentives are also provided to support teaching and research, strengthening efforts to recruit and retain distinguished international talents.
Faculty and Staff support
NCKU regards all faculty and staff as valuable assets of the University and is committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to attract and retain outstanding talent. In 2024, the University implemented a 7% salary increase for all school-appointed staff and upholds the principle of equal pay for equal work, explicitly prohibiting wage disparities based on gender, race, or other factors.
