The Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development centers on institutional governance, sustainable development, and strategic integration to help NCKU respond to social and environmental change through teaching, research, service, and governance.

About the Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development
Based on the university vision, the Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development ensures that action plans move toward institutional development goals. Grounded in institutional data analysis, the Office assists university leadership in responding to global changes in higher education, ministry requirements, social needs, and emerging challenges. Beyond carrying out pioneering work, it actively plans university-wide initiatives, projects, and strategic directions, responds in a timely manner to stakeholder needs, and provides strategic direction for implementation units to define action plans and performance indicators. This helps align each unit's work with university-level direction while also offering forward-looking consultation and discussion based on unit needs.
Through the operation and functions of OSSD, National Cheng Kung University can clarify its development priorities, further leverage its strengths, meet stakeholder needs, respond actively and effectively to a sustainable society and international connections, and become an influential university.

Responsibilities
OSSD integrates sustainability strategy and institutional development so goals, actions, and governance can be coordinated and carried forward.

Strengthen the integration of sustainable development into teaching, research, service, and governance.

Coordinate the establishment of multiple sustainability working groups responsible for implementing action plans.

Coordinate administrative and academic units internally to advance sustainable campus governance, while supporting and participating in social sustainability work externally to expand impact.
Sustainability and Strategic Development
Sustainable NCKU
The logo pairs the National Cheng Kung University emblem with the identity of the Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development, combining the University's brand with sustainability imagery to show that the Office is rooted in NCKU as it advances institutional sustainability and strategic development.
On the left, the NCKU emblem and wordmark show that the Office belongs to the University and carry forward its brand spirit and identity system as a university-level administrative unit.
The colored vertical bar in the center echoes the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, visually linking the University and the Office and expressing the many dimensions of sustainability and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
On the right, the Office's Chinese and English names establish a clear unit identity and convey its role in integrating sustainability governance and strategic development toward the University's long-term vision.
