History & Vision

The university’s Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development evolved from the former Office of Strategic Planning (OSP). Established in April 2022, the OSP supported university development planning, management, and the coordination of university-wide projects. With approval from the University Council later that year, the Office was formally implemented. It consisted of four divisions: Information Analysis, Development Planning, Identity and Communication, and Project Integration.

To enhance the university’s sustainability governance framework, the former “Office of Strategic Planning” will be restructured into the “Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development” effective August 1, 2025. As a first-tier administrative unit, the Office will integrate and promote university-level sustainability strategies and coordinate internal and external resources to realize the vision of sustainable governance.

Following the reorganization, the Office includes four divisions: the Division of Development Planning, the Division of Institutional Data and Analysis, the Division of Social Responsibility and Impact, and the Division of Project Integration. Together, they integrate university resources, enhance sustainability education, strengthen cross-unit collaboration, and support NCKU’s progress toward resilient and globally impactful sustainable development goals.
