Call for College Nominations for the NCKU Elite Talent Recruitment Subsidy
To strengthen NCKU’s ability to recruit outstanding talent and help high-potential new faculty establish their research capacity, the University established the NCKU Elite Talent Recruitment Subsidy. Designed as strategic supplementary support, it provides resources for research infrastructure and research development to incoming faculty with exceptional research potential, forward-looking development plans, or strategic importance to their college or department.
This is a competitive, college-nominated subsidy rather than a universal grant for all new faculty. Colleges should select nominees based on research performance, development potential, recruitment needs, and the support offered by the college and department. The NCKU Elite Talent Recruitment Review Committee evaluates each nominee’s research plan, development potential, and expected benefit to the University before determining the award and amount.
Application guidance
1. Eligibility
- Incoming faculty members expected to begin on February 1, 2027, who have at least passed the department-level faculty review.

Departments must complete the recommendation form and obtain the supervisor’s approval. Each college then submits the following materials to the Office of Sustainability and Strategic Development:

- An electronic Excel copy of the College Recommendation List for the NCKU Elite Talent Recruitment Subsidy.
3. Nomination limit
Each college may nominate up to five candidates.
4. Submission deadline
5. Review process
The NCKU Elite Talent Recruitment Review Committee will review each faculty member’s background, research proposal, and the support measures provided by the college and department before determining the subsidy result.
Through this subsidy, NCKU looks forward to helping incoming faculty integrate quickly into the academic environment, launch forward-looking research, and work with their colleges and departments to build internationally competitive research teams.
