Guide to applications, onboarding, expenses, FAQ, and contacts for the Elite Talent Recruitment Subsidy

Application

  • Eligible candidates are newly recruited faculty members who have passed the department faculty review and have not yet started work.
  • Applications are accepted in March and October each year.
  • The college or department prepares the documents and submits a university recommendation.

Onboarding

  • The faculty member officially starts work.
  • The college replies to the working group with the employee number and email address.
  • The faculty member submits the Accounting Office budget inquiry system access form.
  • After the Accounting Office creates the record, it issues the project account and the funding becomes available.

Expenses

  • The start-up funding may be used for laboratory setup, equipment, research assistants, overseas exchange, and other research start-up costs.
  • The funding must be used within two years.
  • An implementation report is due one month before the funding expires.
  • There is no fixed ratio between capital and operating expenses.

FAQ and contacts

  • If onboarding is delayed, eligibility is retained and funding is issued after the faculty member actually starts work.
  • Funds cannot be used immediately after approval. The faculty member must first start work, complete the Accounting Office record, and receive the project account.
