NCKU LDCT screening FAQ — detailed image description

The infographic answers four common questions about the NCKU Well-being Campus LDCT program.

FAQ infographic about LDCT cost, duration, colds, and recent chest examinations

Do eligible participants need to pay?

No. University fundraising covers the program costs, so eligible participants receive screening free of charge.

How long does screening take?

The scan takes about two to five minutes, excluding registration and waiting. Arrive at the notified time; early arrival is not required.

Can someone with a cold receive LDCT?

A mild cold, such as a runny nose, light cough, or sore throat, usually does not affect results. Acute symptoms such as severe coughing or a lung infection may affect diagnostic accuracy; contact the screening unit one day before the appointment to reschedule.

What if a chest examination was performed recently?

A recent chest X-ray does not prevent LDCT. If LDCT was performed within 12 months, consult a doctor first. If a chest CT was performed within 12 months, delaying LDCT is advised to avoid high radiation exposure over a short period.
