National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) continues to strengthen ties with its Malaysian alumni and local educational community. On September 5, Executive Vice President Yuh-Neu Chen led a delegation to Kuala Lumpur for the 41st NCKU Mathematics and Science Competition and 5th NCKU Business Competition, as well as an admissions briefing and the NCKU Alumni Association of Malaysia’s 54th anniversary Gala Dinner.
This year’s competitions brought together over 300 students and teachers from 46 secondary schools. Chen highlighted NCKU’s 95-year development into a comprehensive research university and its commitment to supporting outstanding Malaysian students through scholarships and other resources. She encouraged participants to gain experience, discover their strengths, and continue challenging themselves.
Founded in 1972, the NCKU Alumni Association of Malaysia has grown from approximately 20 members to more than 1,200. As NCKU celebrates its 95th anniversary, Chen invited Malaysian alumni to return for the anniversary events in November and expressed hopes of further strengthening alumni engagement, talent development, and industry-academia collaboration toward NCKU’s centennial.
